Fields of Application

With these new components, manufacturers and project engineers designing production facilities can easily fulfill the requirements for fixed guards.
Dangerous zones on machinery are usually accessed through door elements. In some cases, the manufacturer may also designate maintenance zones for this purpose.

Specifications for designated maintenance zones on protective devices:

  • Fixed guards must be fixed by systems that can be opened or removed only with tools.
  • Their fixing systems must remain attached to the guards or to the machinery when the guards are removed.
  • Where possible, guards must be incapable of remaining in place without their fixings.
In order to select and design the appropriate protective devices for specific machinery, it is important to assess the risk resulting from the hazards on the machinery as well as the foreseeably exposed groups of persons.
(See EN ISO 12100-1:2003, section 5, and EN ISO 14121-1, DIN EN 953.)

Components
Retainer ring - Vario-Fix block
Retainer ring - Vario-Fix block

The retainer ring maintains the connection between screw and surface element, guaranteeing that the fastening screw is not lost.
In versions M4, M5, M6, the retainer rings can be ordered using separate part numbers. All Vario-Fix blocks can be optionally equipped with retainer rings. Existing systems can be retrofitted at any time.

In the future, the Vario-Fix S blocks 30, 40/45 and Vario-Fix block 10 will be equipped with a retainer ring including assembly instructions as a standard. The shape of models S 30x30 and 40/45 will also be modified for an optimum distribution of force.
These changes will have no effect on prices for our customers.
Safety set - Safety Strip
Safety set - Safety Strip

In addition, a safety set and Safety Strip have been specifically developed for the suspension bracket in the EcoSafe range, which also prevents the fastening screw from being lost or misplaced.
